There's a lot of pictures.

I've survived another week of school! It's only getting harder. I really should keep up, but I've still been adjusting.

There's a million things I want to talk about. I'll just start with school.

WANT TO SEE MY CLASSROOM? )

My parents and I have also finally done our living room a justice and got a REAL DVD case for our massive collection.

I LOVE PICTURES TODAY... )

I actually also did some reorganizing of my own. I sold an assload of Korean CDs, and I finally had enough room on my CD/DVD cases to make one a fully CD case and the other a DVD case.

JUST 1 PICTURE... )

I brought in some DVDs from the living room to my room to fill up the DVD side though. I brought in the rest of my Scrubs DVDs, all 5 of the Harry Potters, Ugly Betty, and my favorite movies that I usually pick to watch when I get bored and need something in the background. Yayz. ♥.

I'm hoping to sell some more CDs though. I want to reorganize my CD collection a bit better.
---

While we were driving back from vaccines and errands on Thursday, I saw the craziest cloud/sunlight formation ever. I tried to capture it with my iphone. It's not the most accurate picture, but it's still pretty neat.

CLOUDS AND SUN... )

Just that small opening in the clouds and all this light was shooting down from it. It was so amazing.
---

My friends are nerds. Alma had on these crazy shades, and I took a picture of her with them on while we ate at Sweet Tomatoes. Then, I asked if I could try them on and asked her to take a picture. And I love when I come up with this crap - so I made everyone put them on.

2 COOL 4 SCHOOL... )

NERDZ. But ♥.
---

UM. EVEN WITH SCHOOL, I DO NOT FALL BEHIND ON DRAMAS.

AND OMG, THEY ONLY GET BETTER WHEN I'M GOING TO SCHOOL. D:

ILJIMAE SPOILERS UP TO EPISODE 18 - CAPSLOCK WARNING... )

EPISODE 19, WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUU!!

I can't believe there are only 2 more episodes left. So good. I'm going to miss it after next week. :\
---

AND, OF COURSE, MY JDRAMAS. I am currently watching Code Blue and Maou. But, to be honest, MAOU OWNS CODE BLUE SO HARD THAT OHNO IS THROWING TAROT CARDS AT YAMAPI'S CURLS. Really.

I cannot get enough of Maou. I cannot wait for next week's episode. I have never loved Ohno so much in my entire life. I LOVE how he seems so kind and reserved when he talks to psychic girl, and then it's all like REDFACEDEVILGLARES.

I wish the writers would GIVE HIM SOME MORE LINES THOUGH. I MEAN, I LOVE CREEPY DEATH STARES AS MUCH AS THE NEXT FANGIRL, BUT THE KID IS SO CUTE WHEN HE TALKS. D:

ILU OHNO. YOU AND NINO ARE SO MY OTP FOREVER AND EVER AND LIFE.

I need Ohno!Devil icons RIGHT NOW. I will make some tonight. I wanted to make some new icons in general.
---

And I think this post is long enough.

I'm hoping [info]__liz sends me awesome new music. I need new things to listen to.

LATERDAYS.

GAMES.

I dug up my old Nintendo DS (NOT EVEN THE LITE! XD), bought a R4, and am now currently going crazy trying to figure out what games to play.

RECOMMEND ME YOUR FAVORITE NINTENDO DS GAME!

So far, I'm playing -

Brain Age 1 & 2
Cooking Mama 1 & 2
Wario Ware Touched
Nodame Cantabile
---

I wanted to get the R4 to see if I would actually play games often enough to buy a DS Lite. I've always wanted one because they are so freaking cute. The white one is so nice.

I have a lot to blog about! My life is full of crazies.

Rainy Thursday on the Avenue
I am so tired. In a way, it feels like much more than a day since my Nanny passed away. It was so early on Wednesday morning that we had the entire day full of things we had to do, and, today, we spent the whole day getting things ready for a wake/service type thing that we're doing. She wanted something informal with any family and friends who wanted to drop by, and we managed to get access to the banquet room area of a church nearby for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. She didn't go to church, so she didn't want a service thing, but this room isn't in the main church, so we think it'd be okay. I think that those of you who would want to drop by aren't in this area to attend but, if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll give the address. Someone had asked about sending flowers, but I think I gave the address to that person. Maybe. It's hard to remember right now. If I didn't and you wanted it, let me know. I'll pass it along. *rubs braindead head*

Today was spent arranging for food, buying things needed for serving and all, getting kids clothes/shoes for wake/service thing, getting some flowers so that there are some from us and all. Tomorrow, it's more errands, haircuts for kids, getting groceries, and I don't even know what else. Saturday is baking and fixing a few trays with veggies/fruits that we decided to do ourselves instead of buying already done. Having things to do keeps us busy and makes it easier to deal, in a way.

I'm going to be pretty busy from now until Sunday afternoon, but I'm really looking forward to having some me-time for RPing at [info]road_ahead, which I miss dearly, and even just not feeling exhausted by the time I sit down at night. I want to try to focus on writing that Ronathon fic (yeah, this interrupted my brainstorming for something that would let me write it so the poor winner is still waiting and I suck for losing my muse on it months ago) and the recent auction winner's requests and maybe just some things for myself to let me relax and be creative. I miss writing and RPing and everyone here. *nods*

I hope that everyone is having a great week. I want to thank you all for the kind words and support right now. It means a lot. Also, thanks to the people who have sent me things. They know who they are and I really appreciated the surprises. *hugs everyone* *goes to collapse in exhaustion*

Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

Dulce and Aorist
This morning, I delivered the last scene of Chapter 12 to Naomi. She's got a full week, so probably won't get it back to me for a few days, then it still needs to go to Muridae, but it's done, and it will bring me to a logical close (although it may not feel like it exactly) for a story arc.

This afternoon, I opened Chapter 7 of Past Present and started on that. I plan to finish the draft of Past Present before writing more on Dulce. It's hard to guess what I've got left to do on that, in terms of word length, but I'm guessing it's about half-finished, maybe slightly more than half?

But I thought I'd give a quick update on where I am. That new Twilight story will be out at some point too. So it's been a bit of stretch since the last post, but I've got a couple of things in the pipe. :-)

Twilight Manip: E&B In The Meadow
ZOMG! TWILIGHT! NO WAY!
hee. Sorry, couldn't help it...

So! The skin condition is back! ha. Sparkley Edward, take 2, does not play well with photoshop others

Just a simple manip of Edward & Bella in the meadow. I have no idea how they're going to make the shinies in the movie, but I think I'll leave it to them from now on, b'cause seriously? the fact I can't make him look like he does in my head is starting to annoy me. *grumbles*

Sorta sad to be right (home run derby) + Dulce
I so called it. Before round one, I said Morneau would take the home run derby and he did, although to be fair, I had NO idea Josh Hamilton would get that hot streak (my second pick was actually Sizemore), but I called Morneau because he's a steady hitter. But it was a bit of a "tortoise vs. hare" match-up. By the time Hamilton came up for third round, he was worn out and past his peak. Of course, Morneau really was too, but it was interesting to see it play out. So Hamilton leaves with a new record (and a new fan in my son), and Morneau leaves with the trophy (and I won a quarter in a bet, ha). ;> Slow and steady wins the race ... But Hamilton was still something to watch. Unbelievable first round.

ETA: I am done now with chapter 12 of Dulce. I want to read over the final scene one more time tomorrow before sending it to Naomi, but she's already got the first two scenes. Ron fans will like this one, I think.

So tired
RL )
♥ The auction at [info]livelongnmarry ends tonight or tomorrow. I need to check. Tons of things offered in many, many fandoms. My offer (10 ficlets 500+ words) is here should anyone feel like checking it out.
[info]road_ahead has been just brilliant, as always, and I'm so tired that I can't even keep up with everything happening there right now. I miss it a lot, and I'm looking forward to being awake enough to read some of the great threads that I've skimmed recently. BTW, we're still looking for some cast to apply and possibly join, so if you want to RP with a fantastic group of people (new and experienced) and explore post-canon in a soon to be post-NEWT world, check it out. We'd love to read apps and such.
♥ Hope everyone is doing well. *hugs you all*

I'VE SEEN ALL OF THEM. I had no idea until I just went through the list to bold/italicize. How neat!
---

On Friday, Liz, Amanda, and I hung out. We had Yummy Grill sushi, went to Nordstroms Rack (I bought a pair of black flats!), went to Target, and rented Be Kind Rewind which was hilarious in a very independent film sort of way. It was a fun day.

Yesterday, Liz, Amanda, Alma, and I had dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. DELICIOUS. I haven't had it in so long. It was delicious. After, we went to Old Navy (didn't buy anything YAYZ) and then we went to Michaels. We bought those colored strand things to make lanyards! You know, those things that you used to make in like elementary school? Well, I never learned how to make them! So, Amanda and Liz taught me yesterday. It was super fun and only semi-confusing. I can make lanyards now. HAHA.

My plans for the day include mostly a lot of reading. I really don't know how far in advance I need to be reading and what classes actually require reading, so I'm just going to go for it in the mean time. I finally organized all of my planner/phone stuff, so I'm pretty much set to go now.

Getting started seems to be the hardest part!?

...BTW, the weekend seems to go by so fast. It's scary!

wow
I've been buried, and have kidlet this weekend. I'm having a hard time getting my Flist read. Man. Plus that 16K-word story turned into 17,5K ... so yes, it's an official (if very short) novella, called (amusingly) Cowboys and Indians. I'm pretty much done with it finally and am sending it off to Silly Bella, who has bravey girded her loins and agreed to read the sucker. I don't want to overload Naomi, so she can read chapter 12 of Dulce. I'll finish that next. It's actually mostly done; I just got side-tracked by this damn thing.

I do not need a new fandom, I do not need a new fandom ... I swear, this'll be the last thing I write in this before the last book comes out (and we'll see if I write anything after that).

But I think I'm in love with Jasper. *grin*

ZOMG. Graduate School.

I survived the first week of graduate school.

I'm going to start by saying how utterly terrified I am. Don't get me wrong, I didn't assume getting a Master's would be cake on cake, a walk through the park. I just...didn't think it would be as intense and demanding as it is currently appearing either.

I mean, by Day 2 of Orientation, I was near tears.

To summarize my week - I'll spare you with an LJ cut... )

I actually haven't gone to all of my classes yet. I think the only one I'm missing is my Fieldwork Orientation Seminar class which I only have on Tuesdays for 3 hours. I think it's prep stuff before they send us off into fieldwork next semester.
---

So. there you have it. I'm in graduate school. I'm scared. And I'm going to be busy. Very busy.

And there hasn't been crying yet. But according to the staff, someone will be crying during fieldwork. They apparently take bets on who will be the one to crack. I put $20 on myself.

I think this whole experience would be less terrifying if Liz or Amanda was there with me. I think half of the battle is that I'm sort of alone. I want to try and convince one of them to apply to the program. Atleast if they were in it, I wouldn't feel so unsure and so nervous the whole time. It's scary what friendship can do for your entire self-esteem and confidence level.

The thing is, I am not overly independent OR co-dependent, although I perfer to be by myself a lot of the time. That doesn't mean I'm anti-social either because I like interacting and jokes and such. It's just - this is sort of my first time I'm on my own. I don't know. It's hard to explain.

I've already figured out how to get through this though. WORK ONE SEMESTER AT A TIME. I currently have 6 courses this semester - 15 credits. I'm going to do whatever it takes to take care of this semester and worry about next semester when the time comes. I think that's the only way to survive this whole thing. Because if I keep thinking about my two 12-week fieldwork clinicals in my 2nd year, I'm going to have a mental breakdown.

I'm sure this post is all over the place and half of it will make much sense, but I had to throw it out there so that I remember what this first week was like. I hope a year from now, I read this and get nostalgic.

And for the TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ CROWD - I'M ALIVE. ♥.

Third wheels and light bulbs
A friend from work is hanging out with us tomorrow and at first she said she didn't want to be the "light bulb" (灯泡 deng pao). I have no idea why, but in Chinese, the word for being the "third wheel" or "playing gooseberry", is a "light bulb".

I can understand 'third wheel' in the sense that the third person accompanying a couple feels awkward, like an unnecessary third wheel. As to a light bulb, I'm not sure of the origins :D

Twilight DVD Cover Art..
..and I'm back on a Twilight kick. I'm working through a couple of manips at the moment but I got bored - I have the attention span of a gnat. If, y'know, gnats have short attention spans. ? anyway..

I swear I'll stop with the dvd cover art, now. For awhile, at least. ;)
